Embracing Your Shadows

An Art Therapy Journey with Sheryl Lake

Sample of the owl sculpture, although we will be exploring many colors.

As an artist since childhood with a lifelong passion for psychology, I have always sought to explore the depths of the human mind and spirit. Over the past 15 years, I have delved into the spiritual realm, immersing myself in profound practices such as inner child work, shadow work, and navigating the dark night of the soul.

Recognizing the profound healing potential of art, I have made it my mission to merge my artistic talents with my understanding of psychology and spirituality. Certified as an Art Therapy Life Coach, I specialize in guiding individuals on a transformative journey of self-discovery and healing through the power of creativity.

Through my unique approach, I empower others to tap into their inner wisdom, confront their shadows, and embark on a path of self-healing and personal growth.

By blending art and therapy, I offer a safe and nurturing space for individuals to explore, express, and ultimately, transform their inner worlds.

Join me on this transformative journey, where art becomes a powerful tool for self-exploration, healing, and personal empowerment. Let's unlock the healing potential within you, one brushstroke at a time, by painting an owl sculpture together.

I chose an owl for this due to the symbolism of owls and the similarities to working on our shadows. Both owls and shadow work can be seen as guides that assist individuals in navigating through the darkness - whether it be the literal darkness of night for owls or the metaphorical darkness of the subconscious mind for shadow work practitioners. By embracing the wisdom and intuition symbolized by owls and engaging in the process of shadow work, individuals can gain deeper self-awareness, healing, and personal growth.

All supplies are included. The Owl is app 9"x 7" and is made of a product called hydro-stone. This product can break but is failrly durable and great for indoors or outdoors. Bring a journel if you'd like, but it is not required. All levels of experience in art and shadow work are welcome. I will be teaching one of my favorite techniques in painting to use on textured surfaces called dry brushing. As far as shadow work goes, it is always an ongoing process, so whether you are new to it or not it is always of great benefit to learn more. Be sure not to wear your favorite clothes, as it can get a littke messy!

This class will be on September 22nd at 1:00 to 3:30pm. It will be located at Nexus Academy of Magick and Esoteric Sciences, 4865 E Speedway, Blvd, Tucson Az, 85712. Price will be $40 a person, all skill levels welcome, and supplies are included. To reserve your spot DM @nexusoccult or email nexusoccult@gmail.com.

After sculpting the original piece, I make a mold. This allows me to reproduce the design as needed.
